Group classes, three ways

Our group fitness classes deliver the energy and accountability of training with a coach and a crew. No barbell experience required, every workout scaled to you. Three distinct class formats run across all three gyms, so you can build your week around what your body needs.

MetCon

MetCon is a true embodiment of Chicago Strength as a whole, fusing together the longer, endurance-style structure of our Fitness classes while incorporating the format and metabolic conditioning of the CrossFit WODs.

Perfect for athletes who are curious about our CrossFit program but aren't ready to commit to Elements quite yet, and for athletes accustomed to our other Fitness classes who want to ramp up the intensity of their workouts.

It's also a great alternative for our CrossFit athletes who need a day off from heavy loads but still want a workout that leaves them properly spent.

Strength & Conditioning

Strength & Conditioning separates the two elements in an effort to isolate the training effects of each. Our S&C classes involve an intense strength session of pure weightlifting (30 min) followed immediately by conditioning (30 min), including sprint work, speed/agility/quickness, and cardio circuits. Tuesdays focus on Upper Body, while Fridays focus on Lower Body and Core.

This class is unique in that it allows you to challenge yourself with the demands of heavier resistance without additional fatigue, and then put 100% effort into the conditioning that follows, without having expended yourself cardiovascularly during the strength portion of class.

Circuit

Circuit is a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class that was the original Fitness class at Chicago Strength. HIIT is an exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods.

HIIT workouts provide improved athletic capacity and conditioning, as well as improved glucose metabolism. Circuit workouts alternate strength movements (using dumbbells, kettlebells, bodyweight, and TRX) with cardio movements (such as running, rowing, and spinning) so athletes operate at high intensity for the entire class.
